The benefit is granted from the date of application submission, but no earlier than the date when the child obtained the disability assessment. If the application is submitted after the child turns 18, the benefit is not granted. The program requires no income threshold - every family raising a child with a disability can receive these funds regardless of income level. Parents can combine the Za Życiem benefit with other family benefits, such as 800+ or nursing allowance. The benefit is paid monthly, usually by the 10th of each month. For children with significant disability assessment, the parent can also apply for a supplement to the nursing allowance.
